I joined the July 2025 cohort mostly because my accountant kept nagging me. Three months in, my invoicing process went from chaotic to actually manageable. The other participants showed me shortcuts I never would've found on my own.
What Participants Actually Say
We asked recent graduates what stuck with them. These responses came through email in late 2025 and early 2026. We didn't clean them up much.
The budgeting module seemed basic at first, but applying it with real numbers from my business? That changed how I look at every expense now.
I appreciated that nobody pretended to have all the answers. We figured out solutions together, which made the whole thing feel less intimidating.
The networking ended up being more valuable than I expected. I still email with three people from my cohort when I need a second opinion on financial decisions.
How the Journey Typically Unfolds
Most participants go through similar phases. The timeline varies, but the pattern holds pretty consistent.
Getting Started (Months 1-2)
You'll assess where your business actually stands financially. Not where you hope it is, but the real numbers. This part can be uncomfortable, but it's necessary. We do this as a group, which helps.
Building Systems (Months 3-4)
This is where you create processes that work for your specific situation. No copying templates blindly. We look at what you're already doing and improve it gradually.
Refinement (Months 5-6)
You'll test what you've built against real business challenges. Things will need adjusting. That's normal. The peer group helps troubleshoot when systems don't work as planned.
Ongoing Practice
After the formal program ends, you keep applying what you learned. Many participants join our quarterly check-in sessions to stay accountable and connected with their cohort.
What Actually Improved
Most participants report understanding their cash flow patterns within the first three months. They can predict lean periods and plan accordingly instead of being constantly surprised.
The biggest shift is moving from reactive firefighting to having systems that run without constant attention. Invoicing, expense tracking, and budgeting become routine rather than crisis moments.
Participants value the connections as much as the content. Having business owners who understand your challenges creates accountability that outlasts the program itself.
Interested in Joining a Cohort?
Our next program starts in August 2026. We keep groups small, usually 8-12 participants, to maintain the collaborative atmosphere that makes this work.
